My name is Lisa Seavey. I am 30 years old and I live in Lewiston, Maine. I started a small local business, Diamond Delivery LA, and a small nonprofit organization called Lucky Stars Donations.
I grew up in Maine in foster care from the ages of 7 to 18. I had a hard time in middle school, but then I attended Good Will Hinckley in Fairfield for High School and I excelled. I was captain of three sports, Class President my Senior Year, and a competitive vocalist. I graduated as Valedictorian in June 2004, but I had already began attending college at Thomas College as a Junior.
I have three daughters 10 years old, 8 years old, and 9 months old. Unfortunately, after losing my father in 2010, I lost my sense of freedom and the custody of my two eldest daughters. I do spend a lot of time wishing I could change certain things, but all I can change is what I am actively doing to make my life better and provide a safety net for my family.
I am now married to my best friend, I run a business and the Lucky Starts Donations (NonProfit Organization). I am also working on my Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies at UMA. I am trying to do all of this without a computer because I cannot afford one. I work approximately 80 hours a week between Diamond Delivery LA and Lucky Stars Donations, which is dedicated to donating all types of items to working Maine families who are facing hardship. The whole reason I started Lucky Stars Donations was because many people have done so many small things in my life that had such a huge impact on me when I was most discouraged. I got to this point with the support of my husband, who has been my number 1 fan.
I really appreciate the time and any potential donations that are meant to help myself and Lucky Stars Donations.
